Job Duties Include:
- Student Onboarding: Coordinating with the Enrollment Advising Team, reaches out and welcomes newly admitted students. Builds a collaborative and supportive relationship, assisting students prepare their course schedule and degree plan and onboard into Ohio University, resulting in increased admission yield and student persistence.
- Student Advising: Virtually advises a caseload of online undergraduate students in assigned programs via virtual meeting, email, and phone. Counsels students regarding degree requirements, academic progress, curriculum decisions, and course options, and supports students in navigating university resources to support their success. Assists students in navigating challenges arising in the course of their program including but not limited to academics progress, technology, registration, student account issues, and other potential barriers to success. Collaboratively works with other university departments to ensure student concerns are addressed and resolved, escalating where appropriate. Documents and maintains up-to-date records and advising notes from all student interactions in appropriate systems.
- Student Success and Engagement: Proactively monitors student progress through available reporting. Initiates regular communication with assigned students through various online channels, fostering a supportive advisor-student relationship. Directs students to relevant academic resources, support services, and co-curricular opportunities. Supports planning of student stop-outs and returns.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
