The UNTD tutors will coach students between grades Kindergarten-12th Grades in math and reading. Our program helps struggling and gifted students grow into their full academic potential by supplementing the instruction they receive in class and guiding them toward focused study practices. Tutors will work with individual students one-on-one as well as during organized group activities. This work requires face-to-face interaction and travel to the Cedar Hills ISD campuses. Student assistants must commit to a minimum of 5 hours per week with specific hours assigned to be determined.

Minimum Qualifications Currently enrolled UNT Dallas, UNT Dallas College of Law, HSC or UNT student in good standing and making satisfactory progress toward completion of a degree or certification program. Applicants must possess the following:
- Must qualify as work-study eligible.
- Excellent customer service skills, as well as effective oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Some knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Good interpersonal skills and ease in relating to people from varying educational, cultural and social backgrounds.
- Responsible, reliable and punctual.
- Ability to learn assigned tasks readily, to adhere to prescribed routines, and to develop some skill in the operation of common office equipment.
- Established proficiency in subject matter (i.e. math, reading).
- Ability to develop positive rapport with students.
- Reliable transportation for travel.
- Comfortable working within a team, as well as independently.
- Previous experience tutoring children.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to present information to groups.
