As industry leaders, we're seeking outstanding Safety and Security Officers to uphold the safety and security standards for our guests, employees, and assets amidst our expanding operations.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Security Officers at City National Arena play a pivotal role in maintaining the safety and security of both the arena and the headquarters of the NHL team, the Vegas Golden Knights. The role will provide facility security to professional hockey practices, youth and adult hockey programs, public skating sessions, and private events. While maintaining the highest level of guest service, top candidates will have a proven track record of comprehensive safety, security, and emergency preparedness strategies to appropriately mitigate risk.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct routine patrols of the facility to monitor for any security breaches, hazards, or suspicious activities.
- Enforce facility policies and procedures to maintain order and safety during events and activities.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to promptly respond to any security incidents or emergencies.
- Provide assistance and guidance to guests, employees, and vendors to ensure a positive and safe experience within the arena.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and emergency responders as needed to address security concerns and coordinate emergency responses.
- Conduct thorough investigations of security incidents, documenting findings, implementing corrective measures as necessary, and making appropriate notifications.
- Assist with crowd control and evacuation procedures during emergencies or large-scale events.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance security knowledge and skills.
- Control and direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic as necessary.
- Ensure all employees and visitors have proper credentials for accessing secure zones within the building.
- Assist facility operations staff in securing designated areas during maintenance emergencies, and contribute to team effort by accomplishing related collaborative tasks as needed.
- Actively assist and assume responsibility for the receipt and delivery of all mail/packages arriving at City National Arena.
- High school diploma, or GED required.
- 5+ years prior experience in security, law enforcement, or military service strongly preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must pass a background check, and provide DD214 if applicable.
- Knowledge of security principles, procedures, and techniques, with a focus on crowd management and emergency response is a must.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals and diffuse tense situations.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills, with the ability to identify potential security risks and take proactive measures to mitigate them.
- Ability to work in dark, bright, smoky, dusty, cold and/or confined spaces.
- Comfortable kneeling, carrying, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to carry up to 50 lbs. as needed for short distances.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with a flexible schedule to accommodate evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- This is a Swing Shift; Friday – Monday, 12pm-10pm.
