The Team
The vision of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's U.S. Program (USP) works to ensure all students in the US have access to educational opportunities, from Pre-K to postsecondary, that enable them to develop the knowledge, skills, and agency needed thrive as adults and contribute to their communities. Our goal is to make sure more students are on track to obtain a postsecondary credential with labor market value such that race/ethnicity and income are no longer predictors of student success.
The USP Office of the President (OOP) aims to amplify US programs' impact by aligning and delivering cross-team strategic and operational resources and insights as well as leading cross-cutting programmatic portfolios while fostering a high integrity culture.
Our mission is to:
* Ensure optimal impact of division programs and operations, and high standards of stewardship through performance management and the strategic allocation of resources.
* Deliver division-wide supports to program teams to bolster capacity and drive the implementation and associated change management of programmatic and operational initiatives.
* Partner with program teams to ensure alignment of strategic priorities and actively establish understanding of USP progress and learning across USP and foundation leadership.

Your Role
The Officer, Business Process Management facilitates and supports cross-cutting operational and programmatic priorities for the US Program's DEI-related initiatives, USP Learning, and the programmatic portfolios managed by OOP, and may include others over time. This role is responsible for supporting program design, development of content, Project Management, stakeholder management, communications, and execution of a wide range of strategy and operational processes across multiple audiences, initiatives, and portfolios.
What You'll Do
  • Partner closely with the project teams to design and implement the strategies, build content and approaches to processes. This role supports the lead execution to deliver value by supporting scope definition, analysis, design, change management, and execution.
  • This role drives facilitation, Project Management, partner management and accountability on action items, develops and implements complex project plans, and coordinates and oversees project activities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and timelines. Monitors progress, identifies potential risks, and provides recommendations on mitigation strategies. Proactively identifies opportunities for your projects to advance their mission and operate more efficiently.
  • You are responsible for drafting source documents, reports, presentations, and communications for a variety of purposes and audiences, summarizing developments and recommendations for program areas and internal and external partners in highly collaborative and iterative settings.
  • Support the shaping of the team measurement, learning and evaluation strategy for the initiative. Help design and operationalize processes and systems which will feed data and analysis from the initiative and research back into key team decisions about the initiative.
  • Interact and communicate clearly and consistently with internal stakeholders and partners in the field. Provide leadership and support for day-to-day team operations, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and resource allocation.
  • Execute implementation process or systemic change that is consistent and aligns with the initiative's strategy and the division's rhythm of the business. Includes assessing current and future state, deeply understanding the context and affected impact of changes, developing change management plans, and executing the implementation and rollout in an inclusive and learning-based approach across multiple teams and stakeholders.

    Content Developer: Holds the pen for content development and drives the iterative process ensuring completion of tasks, incorporation of input, version control, and final product. MLE expertise: This individual will also support their team with high quality synthesis of data and partner analysis of key issues, making sure that new data from partners, grants and projects is collected, analyzed and the results fed back into the strategic decision-making processes and communicated with key internal stakeholders and external partners.

* The salary range for this role is $137,500 to $206,200 USD. We recognize high-wage market differences where our offices are located, in Seattle, Washington D.C., and Boston (Cambridge). The range for this role in these locations is $149,800 to $224,600 USD. As a mission-driven organization, we strive to balance competitive pay with our mission and new hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary range between the minimum and the midpoint salary range. Actual placement in the range will depend on a candidate's job-related skills, experience, and expertise, as evaluated during the interview process.
