Graduation from high school or GED and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least one year of office assistant, secretarial or records processing experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Authorization of Release of Personal Information to Cumberland County Sheriff's Office The Authorization for Release form must be notarized. We are able to notarize your application free of charge and provide photocopies of your documents.
Must be able to obtain DCI certification. Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain DCI (Division of Criminal Investigation) certification.
- Provide excellent customer service to citizens and members of this and other agencies
- Answers telephones and directs calls when necessary
- Responds to inquiries from the public as well as other government agencies
- Composes and types material
- Establishes and maintains proficient filing systems
- Routes mail and other communication
- Prepares and maintains records and computer databases
- Complies reports for other sections within the Sheriff's Office
- Reviews material prepared by others for accuracy and corrects as necessary
- Handles confidential information
- Prepares documents for court
- Conduct criminal history checks
- Makes entries into DCI (DVO ONLY)
- Works regularly with members from the Department of Social Services and attorney offices
- Performs other duties as assigned
