Responsibilities: - Assist with day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable - Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records - Prepare and process invoices, payments, and expense reports - Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions - Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes - Support the preparation of financial statements and reports - Assist in maintaining the general ledger and performing general ledger reconciliations - Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies - Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes and procedures Experience: - Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles - Proficiency in Quicken or other accounting software - Strong understanding of general ledger accounting principles - Knowledge of technical accounting concepts and practices - Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) - Ability to perform account reconciliations accurately and efficiently Skills: - Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping - Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal - Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Note: This is a sample job description for an Assistant Bookkeeper position.
