Job description

Neal’s Flooring is a family-owned business in Branford, CT that has been in operation for over 40 years.

We are looking for a competent, hard-working Office Administrator / Customer Service Associate to help with the daily operations of the company and to act as a point of contact for our customers. The ideal candidate will be a reliable professional who is able to undertake a variety of office support and customer service tasks. This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion, as well as, incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results.

You will undertake a variety of activities in the office ranging from preparing quotes and answering the phone to scheduling jobs and following up on customer inquiries. You must be dependable, thorough and able to work diligently under pressure. Great communication skills are a must for this position. We are looking for a customer-oriented employee that will represent Neal’s Flooring in the best way possible. In addition to general office-related tasks, you will be expected to provide product & service information to our customers and to resolve any problems that arise with accuracy and efficiency.

In time, this role will also provide the candidate with ample opportunity for growth within the company in the form of expanded responsibilities and/or a management role.

Prior experience in the flooring industry is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming calls and field questions, take messages or redirect calls to appropriate colleagues
  • Schedule jobs and sales appointments
  • Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction
  • Create, update and maintain files and records so they remain accurate and easily accessible
  • Handle customer complaints and provide appropriate solutions and/or alternatives in a timely manner; follow up to ensure resolution
  • Keep records of customer interactions, process customer accounts and file documents
  • Build and maintain sustainable relationships and trust with customers, suppliers and colleagues
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance with established policies
  • Assist in office management and organization procedures in ways that optimize procedures
  • Perform other office duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
