JOB TITLE: GROUP/INDIVIDUAL MENTAL HEALTH OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (Full-time)
Accountable to: Director of Clinical Services/ Director of Intensive Outpatient Services
JOB SUMMARY: Provide individual and group occupational therapy for children through older adults in our multiple outpatient locations as needed (Abington, Villanova, Horsham, Northern Philadelphia). Contribute to and follow group curriculum focused on life skills/independent living skills and provide individual occupational therapy sessions as needed. Utilize evidence-based best practices in providing patient-centered, healing-focused care. Participate in a multi-disciplinary team to develop treatment plans and coordinate care.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts referrals, group/individual therapy sessions, and consultations per standards of care, policies, and procedures.
- Manages acute and chronic Mental Health patient concerns within standards of care, relative to policies and procedures.
- Obtains any relevant data concerning patient's history prior to implementing care.
- Uses validated outcome measures to assess treatment effectiveness.
- Conducts group occupational therapy using evidence-based treatments, following the outlined curriculum related to life skills/independent living skills.
- Manages behavioral escalations using verbal de-escalation and environmental supports.
- Documents group and individual therapy sessions for each patient in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Conducts referrals for alternative levels of care/treatment options when indicated both internally and externally.
- Seeks consultation/supervision when necessary.
- Consistently maintains clinical hours as agreed upon.
- Supports and contributes to the development of new programs and growth of the practice.
- Maintains HIPPA and Practice standards. Follows practice policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Licensed in the state of Pennsylvania and in good standing.
- 2 years minimum job experience with life skills training experience.
- Experience with higher acuity Mental Health populations preferred. Experience with group and individual modalities preferred.
