*This position does require travel between our three Infusion Centers (North Ridgeville, TriPoint and Warrensville Heights).
Position Summary:
The Ambulatory Infusion Center Clinical Manager has full responsibility for all operations (clinical, financial, and human resources) of the 3 specialty pharmacy Ambulatory Infusion site locations.
Essential Functions:
-Responsible for ensuring standards of care and quality outcomes are achieved by all clinical and support staff at each community site location.
-Monitors the environment of care to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and Medicare and CMS standards.
-Collaborates with UH Infusion specialty pharmacy to ensure excellence in medication safety.
-Provides leadership and direction, coaching, and counseling to all members of the ambulatory site(s) team.
-Directly manages the advanced practice providers, nursing and support staff including performance expectations, education, and training.
-Oversees, develops process improvement initiatives, and monitors the administrative clinical flow of activities inclusive of patient scheduling and wait times, billing and human resource utilization.
-Collaborates with the Ambulatory Infusion Center medical team (physicians, pharmacists, and nurse practitioners) in care planning and delivery through the course of treatment.
-Responsible for the ambulatory patient experience as a process that assures patients receive treatment, care, and services necessary for their health and well being.
-Responsible for the development, monitoring, and adherence to the ambulatory site(s) budget and develops revenue growth initiatives, expense reduction and capital management activities for the site(s).
-Develops and implements effective nursing field staff education (i.e., orientation, continuing education and skill training) using a variety of teaching/learning techniques to enhance the age-specific quality of patient care and the professional development of nursing staff.
-Collaborates with UHPS nursing/support staff educators to provide appropriate RN staff orientation and ongoing staff education (classroom and field) of infusion practices/procedures including annual competencies for nurses and pharmacists.
-Collaborates with referral sources for complex patients (both adult and pediatric) with infusion needs.
-Creates, reviews, and revises infusion policies utilizing INS standards and CDC guidelines and other appropriate regulatory standards.
-Collaborates with clinical educator to create/revise infusion documentation templates in system and agency EMR.
-Participates in system and agency QAPI initiatives, specifically infection control as it relates to infusion.
-Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work assignments to ensure timely delivery of home infusions services
-Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
-Ability to work collaboratively with various disciplines at different organizational levels
Education:
BSN required; Master's Degree preferred
Experience:
-5 years of progressive clinical and/or management experience required
-3 years of IV therapy experience in acute, post-acute and/or home care settings required
-3 years of Medicare Part B infusion experience preferred
-3 years of staff education experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications:
-Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio required at time of hire
-Certified Registered Nurse Intravenous (CRNI) certification required within 2 years of hire
