Job description

What will you do?

NI is seeking a Sr. Statistical Forecast Demand Planner. The Sr. Demand Planner will work closely with sales to ensure NI's mid and long horizon demand plans are effectively setup. The Sr. Demand Planner will be responsible for validating the statistical forecast based on relevant market information that allows a NI to accurately gauge demand for its products, communicating it out to the organization and managing all plan changes.

How will you do it?

  • Understanding / analyzing demand requirements, allocating necessary supply, recognizing constraints, identifying ways to remove or mitigate those constraints, understanding planning horizons, and the timing of required decisions 
  • Maintaining the appropriate list of critical and escalated materials to include in the Supply Plan 
  • Coordinating and communicating among members of the organization to drive an effective Supply Plan 
  • Preparing materials for the monthly Supply Review Meeting
  • Representing the capabilities of the organization with respect to production, capacity, and inventory, and maintaining high-level plans for each over the horizon of the Supply Plan 
  • Participating in S&OP process with the objective of producing an agreed plan to forward to S&OP Executive Review, along with any decisions made, key assumptions, or outstanding issues for escalation 
  • Maintaining product definitions and capacity within MRP system
  • Exception management of key constraints within supply chain that will have impact to strategic plans and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Demand Planners on potential scenarios to understand business impact and make recommendations for solutions.
  • Own reporting on site status & performance (weekly, monthly & quarterly) out to supply chain management & key partners / stakeholders in the organization.
  • Use data visualization tools such as Tableau to generate the status reports.
  • Support operational report out to the monthly Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) meeting.
  • Define the business requirements & generate the use cases to drive software development.

 

What we look for? 

Required:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or relevant field required.
  • 2-5 years related experience in supply planning in a manufacturing company, required.
  • Experience with MRP systems and managing constraints, required
  • Strong decision making skills and ability to communicate clearly and in a manner that supports the business, required
  • Strong analytical capabilities - including data analysis to optimize plans relative to different supply plans, required.
  • Travel: 5%-10%

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in Oracle and Kinaxis is strongly desired
  • Proficiency in analytical and reporting tools (MS Excel, Tableau) is strongly desired.
  • Has demonstrated high level performance in current and previous positions.
  • Has shown initiative, the desire to drive change and is motivated to exceed expectations
  • Has a solid grasp of supply planning principles, including Process, Information, and Material flow.
  • A strong interest in process and quality improvement and the ability to provide leadership
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Has demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise influence without authority.
  • Strong sense of ownership & positive attitude
