Job Description:
This position will serve as the NOVACard Operations IT Tech for the administrative and college staff. This position will provide technical support for the College Print, NOVACard, Electronic Door Access programs and all hardware and networking associated ,college wide.
Duties and Tasks:
- Perform hardware repair, support, configuration, and upgrade.
- Complete technical tasks with minimal supervision.
- Visit the colleges’ campuses weekly to check all equipment related to NOVACard Operations
- Work with vendors, faculty, staff, and students to resolve technical issues with vendors on various projects.
- Take calls, track, and maintain tickets associated with technical issues for print program, NOVACard and electronic door access using the colleges support ticketing system.
- Provide excellent student’s, faculty and staff with excellent customer services.
- Service and close tickets in a timely manner.
- Efficiently and effectively use all the processes and procedures of the NOVACard Operations department.
- Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical personnel.
- Schedule can include occasional evenings or weekend work.
- Accept other duties as they’re assigned.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
- May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
This position is funded with non-continuous or non-recurring funding and is subject to continuation based on fiscal year funds and the needs of the college.
- Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, students and administrators.
- Knowledge of multi-functional printing devices, hardware point of sale devices, software installations, networks and data communication and the ability to analyze and diagnose routine and unusual related equipment problems.
- Ability to install and troubleshoot computer software and hardware.
- Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively – verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical personnel.
- Proficiency with both Microsoft and Apple OS’s applications.
- Proven ability to plan and complete technical tasks with minimal supervision.
- Ability to safely move and handle 50 pounds independently.
- Experience maintaining multi-function devices, desktop/laptops, peripherals and associated software (PC/MAC).
- Experience providing customer service to managers, users, and/or clients.
- Experience troubleshooting devices hardware and software.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Previous experience working with card systems, and/or door access systems.
- Experience with Print Management experience
- Experience working in higher education
