Transportation Dispatcher
Reports to: Vice President
Immediate Hire
Supervises: Drivers
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Advance Dispatcher is appointed by the President and the VP of Transportation to manage the daily schedule and software systems to complete routes in a timely manner, as determined by the vendors and clients. This position directly supports the drivers and reports directly to the VP of Transportation.
DUTIES will include, but are not necessarily limited to:
- Communicating next-day assignments to drivers
- Operating computer-aided communications and dispatching software(s)
- Continuously verifying all texts, emails, portals, voicemails, and fax correspondences are answered by priority
- Mapping routes for driver schedules
- Monitoring and managing portals for schedule modifications, signatures, and cancellations
- Confirming that trip confirmations are completed by close of business day for next day trips, including address and time confirmations
- Performing miscellaneous tasks as directed by Controller
- Working under pressure while maintaining the highest level of accuracy
- Following procedures and reporting any variance or problems to management or Vendors immediately

- Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communication.
- Ability to perform tasks involving some physical activity.
- Ability to deal effectively with stress.
- Must maintain a professional behavior and attitude towards clients, vendors, and co-workers.
- Must perform work with the understanding that they are part of the same team; that all jobs are important, and they may be asked to contribute to other operations within the company.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Education or equivalent, college degree preferred.
- Basic understanding of general office functions.
- General understanding of personnel policies and processes preferred.
- Experience with dispatching software(s): Routing Box preferred.
- Proven experience in transportation management or a similar role
- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and procedures
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to effectively manage a team and prioritize tasks
- Proficient in using transportation management software and systems
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Pay: $18.00 per hour
