POSITION SUMMARY
The Network Operations Administrator is a strategic technical position within the organization. This position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the integrity of customer’s IT systems, providing escalated support for other technicians via coaching and mentoring. The successful candidate will respond to alerts, escalated issues, diagnose network, find solutions and resolve problems as well as assist with internal projects assigned by management. The candidate will be responsible for regular maintenance and service of desktops and servers while maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, forward thinking, customer-service oriented individual. WHAT DOES OUR NOC ADMINISTRATOR DO?
- Monitor client networks, servers, and infrastructure for issues and outages
- Respond to alerts and notifications and take appropriate action to remediate issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades to client systems
- Communicate with clients and internal teams regarding system status and issue resolution
- Document all activities in ticketing system and follow standard operating procedures
- Document key process for day to day activities
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and technologies related to network operations and security
WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS I NEED TO HAVE?
- 1-3 years of experience in a network operations center or similar role
- Knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery technologies
- Understanding of networking concepts such as routing, switching, and firewalls
- Experience with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS WOULD REALLY HELP SET ME APART FROM OTHER APPLICANTS?
- Industry certifications such as Comtia A+, Network +, Security +
- Experience with cloud-based services such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V
