We are seeking a part-time New Student Experience Coordinator. This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Advisement and Credit for Prior Learning and is responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the New Student Orientation program, planning and implementing New Student engagement activities, and supervising the Student Orientation Leaders.
This is a part-time hourly position.
Example of Duties:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the New Student Orientation Program.
- Recruit, train, and supervise the Student Orientation Leaders.
- Maintain and update the Online Orientation Modules.
- Manage the New Student lists and keep accurate records of New Student participation in the New Student Orientation Program.
- Develop and implement New Student Engagement Initiatives focused on New Student retention.
- Use social media, the student portal, and other virtual platforms to connect with New Students.
- Manage the New Student Workshop Series.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Education, Counseling, Business or related discipline.
- Previous experience in student activities, New Student orientation, leadership program.
- Sensitivity to the needs of the student population of an urban community college.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing and interpersonally.
- Computer literate, proficient in the use of on-line and social media communications.
- Must be able to work one evening per week and occasional Saturdays.
