Job Description

The Student Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for day-to-day coordination and organization of the NextGen Grant, and as well as working directly with students, and other grant activities as delineated by the Project Director.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with high school partners for dual enrollment.
  • Develop and manage summer-intensive program for high school students and broader community.
  • Help manage day-to-day activities of the project, including partner and community relations.
  • Develop and manage all aspects of mentoring program working with Grant Academic Advisor.
  • Coordinate 4-H Club outreach and participation.
  • Establish and maintain a confidential management system for scholarships students, student internships placement and activities, peer mentors and other grant activities.
  • Work with Grant Academic Advisor on creating opportunities for job coaching and experiential experiences for students.
  • Build and maintain positive and proactive relationships with key program staff, college, and community stakeholders.
  • Help develop and foster ongoing relationships with potential on and off-campus employers.
  • Confer, obtain, and document feedback regarding student’s semester-based or summer internship experiences.
  • Help develop and maintain pipeline of student recruitment, summer interns, and scholarship recipients.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service trainings, staff development meetings and meetings as needed with community partners.
  • Help develop and lead virtual and face-to-face activities to support social engagement.
  • Create flyers, videos, and oversee program social media and webpage.
  • Performs additional tasks or duties as assigned by the Grant Program Director or Principal

SPECIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in education, business, agriculture, or environmental studies preferred. Master’s preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience working with secondary school or college students; preferably in higher education

  • Basic Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace
  • Demonstrates understanding of the community college mission and practices an open- door policy. Working knowledge of coordinating services.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills required. Exhibits strong skills in leadership managing people, building relationships and possess a creative and innovative approach to problem-solving. Must have the ability to create protocols for grant activities. Demonstrates the ability to multi-task and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Grant experience preferred.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to employ a balanced and positive approach to all work activities and work collaboratively across various constituencies of the College and with vendors and external constituencies.
  • Exhibits strong skills in communication, customer, and student focus, building relationships, organizing, and planning.

This is a grant-funded position. The annual compensation for this position is $55,000.
