As a Network Technician Lead at STEP, you will provide guidance and support to an elite team of Network Technicians and will be in a unique position to contribute to and help develop STEPs growth. You will be focused on the efficient integration, operation, and delivery of diverse STEP networking and managed services solutions. This role will also afford you the opportunity to continue to build your career and obtain industry and manufacturer-specific certifications.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide guidance, leadership, and supervisory oversight to Network Technician Team during on-site project work to meet defined goals and objectives and meeting or exceeding established SLAs.
- Provide input to the Network Technician Manager regarding coaching, counseling, and performance appraisal of Network Technician team.
- Operate with Safety Always mindset. Understand and monitor for OSHA, STEP, and other common sense safety practices.
- Collaborate with your team and peers to assess areas of opportunity for improvement and work with the Network Technician Manager to implement change where necessary.
- Assist in routine metrics collection to support weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Act as escalation point for day-to-day issues.
- Provide technical assistance and support to field teams.
- Provide input to improve processes, procedures and related documentation for inventory management/control, solution implementation, and maintenance support activities.
- Provide input on new product and solution offerings on Network Technician related items.
- Physical installation/placement of equipment including, but not limited to, network switches, VSPs, wireless access points (indoor and outdoor), phones, and security cameras in classrooms, network closets, gyms, offices, government buildings, and residential exteriors.
- Handle receipt and inventory of equipment. Prepare equipment for deployment to customer locations including unboxing network equipment, putting rack ears on switches, and placing fan and/or power supplies in switches.
- Willing to jump in and assist with any work efforts or responsibilities as needed.
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours on occasion as needed.
- Travel as needed per project requirements.
Ideal Candidate’s Qualifications and Experience
- Any combination of training, education, and/or experience that provides for the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties listed above.
- Experience in guiding and leading customer focused teams delivering technical solutions.
- Ability to effectively communicate with strong command in the English language.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Open to learning new technologies.
- Proficiency with ConnectWise (Manage, Time & Expense), Microsoft Teams, and Office 365 Productivity tools preferred but not required.
- Network Plus certification required.
- Technically minded with experience in implementing network infrastructure, cameras, and unified communication solutions.
- Ability to climb, crawl, utilize ladders, stoop, and bend.
- Ability to lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Safety conscious.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
This job has on site requirements with some travel included as position duties require. Ideal candidates are located in or near (Florida: Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood).
