Charter Manufacturing is hiring a Network Infrastructure Analyst for our Charter Steel location in Cleveland, OH!
This role offers a hybrid onsite/remote work schedule
POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:
Support Charter Manufacturing by ensuring the availability and stability of the WAN, LAN, and WLAN communication networks. Design, install, administer, and optimize business networks and related components to achieve high performance in the areas of data, video, and voice communications. Work closely with the Network Analysts to develop solutions and direct activities of Network Administrators in the implementation and daily administration of Business and Manufacturing Networks to support business's global telecommunications footprint.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Business, related field, or commensurate experience.
- Three years' experience in Information Technology or related experience.
- Three years' experience implementing and configuring Cisco hardware in support of a wired and wireless network.
- Prior experience participating in a team environment.
- Proficiency in communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to be on-call to support a global manufacturing environment that operates 24 X 7.
- Capability to travel, as project load requires.
- Strong technical support documentation skills.
- Self-motivated and directed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in network capacity planning.
- Experience managing network assets in a manufacturing environment.
- Project management skills in leading IT network operations initiatives in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Four plus years' IT Network operations experience in a complex multi-site environment.
- Experienced WAN, LAN, and WLAN diagnostic skills.
- Experience with Riverbed WAN acceleration.
- Experience with F5 load balancers.
- Experience with SD-WAN and SD-LAN technologies.
- Experience in Cloud networking using Azure and AWS.
- Experience with Smart Manufacturing projects.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Participate in the design and implementation of in-house and/or outsourced network environments for managing and maintaining global communications at a high level of reliability and availability.
- Participate in key process improvement initiatives as they relate to the WAN, LAN, and WLAN environments.
- Coordinate and collaborate with Network Engineers and Analysts to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate networks to meet business demands.
- Act as a project participant in the design and review of networks. Manage projects as appropriate.
- Regularly conduct asset management and capacity planning exercises, making recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor network performance, capacity, and reliability metrics on and ongoing basis making recommendations for improvement as appropriate.
- Participate in network audits, failover, and recovery tests.
- Implement and maintain functional policies and procedures, including those for network architecture and standards.
- Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of network design efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility.
- Document the business's existing network and technology portfolio; make recommendations to Senior Network Engineer and Analysts for improvements and/or other performance and cost-effective options.
- Assure IT Network Operations service levels are met, conduct root cause analysis on recurring failures and recommend and or implement corrective actions.
- Work with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to procure and deliver network products and services. Lead actions as appropriate.
- Provide day-to-day maintenance and technical support of the WAN, LAN, and WLAN.
- Participate in on-call support rotation and Tier II / Tier III support.
- Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.
