The Network engineer role for Family Farm and Home will be reporting to the Director of IT on site with one day of remote as you mature in the role. The Network Engineer will maintain and develop IT and manage network and security services which includes but is not limited to Muskegon Corporate campus, related warehouses and 76 plus retail locations in the midwest with high availability requirements associated with each location. The role is an advocate for strong security postures and related outcomes. The Network Engineer will be part of a local IT team where the majority of the work requires being present on site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, Include but are not limited to:
Network and Security Service usability and availability, monitoring, proactive maintenance, incident and problem handling, administration, and documentation.
- Primary Network support.
- Incident and problem management work in accordance with network and current security standards, lead dialogue with reporting business units, suppliers, and service providers.
- When applicable, represent network security operations and work with application teams and projects.
- Collaborate and communicate with vendors, partners, and suppliers.
- Work with our business units to map business needs into the right network solution.
- Give technical advice/input to yearly plans and long-term strategies.
- Perform changes according to change control.
- Assignment and participation in IT projects.
- Lead, administer, implement, test and document implementation of network security changes.
- Extensive experience as a Network Security Engineer/Specialist; managing Cisco solutions, working in a secure, segmented, and high-availability environment.
- Competence on the complete network infrastructure, including firewalls, WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi. and Core Networks.
- ITIL and process development experience are a plus.
- Jira experience a bonus
- Strong team player - collaborates well with others to solve problems.
- Prior leadership experience in an infrastructure team is a significant advantage.
- Significant cyber-security awareness and experience managing cyber-security tools for the Network services.
- Experience providing services in retail settings and warehouse environments.
- Cisco CCNA and/or CCNP certification. A plus, but not required.
- Experience managing firewalls.
- Design and architectural experiences, developing and delivering new and extended services.
- Good understanding of automation in infrastructure.
- Related Technical certifications a plus.
Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Science, or equivalent business experience.
