Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyzes and develops telecommunications networks supporting a wide range of capabilities, including voice, data, video, and/or wireless services
• Develops designs and plans for installation and maintenance of telecommunications systems from project inception to conclusion
• Analyzes the problem and the characteristics of the information to be transported
• Defines the problem and develops system requirements and network specifications
• Closely coordinates with other information system professionals to ensure proper implementation of network services
• In conjunction with functional users, develops alternative solutions and backup plans
• Desired Candidate will have experience in the following Network Protocols and Technologies:
  • Routing and traffic shaping protocols BGP, MPLS, OSPF
  • Remote Access VPN, Site to Site VPN, DMVPN
  • Quality of Service (QoS) implementation and design
  • IPV6 implementation and design
  • 802.1x and MAB endpoint authentication
  • DNS
  • TACACS+
  • Radius
• Network Hardware: Cisco/Brocade
• Network proxy and load balancing: F5 BigIP Proxy/Traffic Management appliances (Preferred)
• Network Authentication and Visibility
• Pulse Secure IC Series Unified Access Control Appliance
• Great Bay Beacon Server
• Cisco ACS
• IPAM: InfoBlox Grid Manager
• Remote Access VPN: Pulse Secure, Palo Alto, Ivanti SSL VPN Appliance
• Network Sniffers: NetScout, InfiniStream . NGeniusOne
• Network Monitoring and Management tools
  • HPE Network Node Manager (NNMi)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 years progressive IT support with 1 year of LAN and/or WAN experience.
• Secret with IT-1 Sensitivity
• U.S. Citizen
• BS in electrical, electronics or systems engineering preferred.
• Must have one of the following certifications for meeting the DoD 8570:
  • CSA+
  • GICSP
  • GSEC
  • Security+CE
  • SSCP
  • CASP CE
  • CCNP Security
  • CISA
  • CISSP (or Associate)
  • GCED
  • GCIH
• Must have one of the following Computing Environment certifications:
  • CCSE NGX

• Ogden, UT

 

Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) is an agency of the Department of Defense. DLA Information Operations, Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS), Network & Telecommunications Services (NTS), Wide Area Network Branch (NTS-WAN), located enterprise wide at multiple DLA locations. This position will support WAN functions on both NIPRNET and SIPRNET by providing skills and expertise in telecom engineering and operational support of current and new technologies to the Wide Area Network (WAN).  This includes providing and administering management solutions to ensure effective daily operation and to resolve problems as they arise
