The IT department provides desktop support, server administration, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing and network management for multiple business entities.
GSI currently has an opening for a Network Engineer to provide network support to multiple small business organizations. The emphasis will be on configuring new equipment, maintaining existing networks and facilitating the security of all IT systems.
The Network Engineer is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the corporate WAN, LAN and server architecture. This individual will also be responsible for assisting with the implementation and administration of network security hardware and software, enforcing the network security policy and complying with requirements of external security audits and recommendations. Due to the nature of the work, considerable concentration, accuracy and consistency in the work are critical to maintain network stability and security, as well as client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Must have CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate
- Must have keen attention to detail and thorough follow through
- Must be extremely responsive to phone calls/emails from our company, customers, co-workers & leadership
- Must be willing to work additional hours, where required, to accomplish the mission
- Must have flexibility and a cooperative demeanor to work effectively as part of a small team
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Should possess a self-starting initiative to handle broad range of duties while working independently
- Should be professionally driven to continue technical skill building through ongoing education and certification
- Shall maintain prescribed personal grooming standards
- CEH – Certified Ethical Hacker is preferred
- CompTIA Network+ is preferred
- CompTIA A+ is preferred
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Configuring and maintaining Cisco Integrated Services Routers
- Configuring and maintaining Cisco switching infrastructure
- Configuring and maintaining Cisco ASAs
- Assisting in the configuration & maintenance of Cisco VoIP systems
- Assisting in the configuration & maintenance of Cisco wireless systems
- Documentation of network and systems
- Conducting research and development of new security technologies and techniques
- Quickly and efficiently responding to outages and customer trouble tickets
- Analyze, troubleshoot and correct network problems remotely and on-site
- Occasionally assisting the desktop support team with remediation and troubleshooting
Eventually, assisting with network security tasks, such as the following:
- Maintaining SIEM
- Conducting vulnerability assessments
- Conducting penetration testing
