Job Description
The Network and Systems Administrator at Stargate School will be responsible for setting up, managing, and maintaining the infrastructure connecting the computer equipment at the school. The Network and Systems Administrator will be responsible for maintaining other school infrastructure systems such as access control systems, VOIP phone system, Closed Circuit camera surveillance system, and safety and communications systems.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility in a satisfactory manner while possessing a keen understanding of the needs of technology critical for a K-12 educational environment. Commitment to the school and its mission is essential.
Requirements:Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of 5 years Network and Systems administration experience in educational institutions.
- Master’s Degree in Information Technology leadership or related field preferred.
- In depth knowledge of USAC/FCC E=Rate program. Understanding of running E-Rate efforts annually via the E-Rate Productivity Center (EPC) and ad hoc programs such as Emergency Connectivity Find (ECF). Filing of timely forms and updating BEN as school headcount changes.
- Demonstrated experience in responding to CORA and Open Records requests for data such as Email, Documents, Video, etc. in a confidential manner. Pulling data and preparing it for legal review and redactions
- Criminal background check required for hire.
Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Advanced proficiency in domain management with Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 365/Azure cloud.
- Advanced expertise in Google Workspace for Education and ChromeOS device management.
- Functional knowledge of various education applications and platforms, including SchoolMint, Infinite Campus, Raptor, and various educational databases.
- Applied experience in setting up online testing platforms such as CDE CMAS/PARCC, WIDA MAPS, SAT/PSAT, etc.
- Held advanced networking certifications (CCNA/Network+) or demonstrated extensive knowledge in managing networks across different layers of the ISO model and protocols.
- Successfully managed software licensing and renewals.
- Demonstrated proficiency with troubleshooting, testing, repair, and maintenance of various computer, network, and server hardware.
- Displayed strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities.
- Maintained meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Exhibited effective communication and project management skills.
- Utilized initiative and independence in day-to-day responsibilities.
