Role Summary
The Network Administrator will engage in overseeing all data communications hardware and software in use at NBR/NBS, along with overseeing Network Infrastructure, new and upgrade planning, installation, maintenance, system security, hardware, and software upgrades. The Network Administrator will coordinate and collaborate with the Information Technology Team to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of the organizational network meet business demands.
Role Responsibilities
- Identify and implement system procedures and solutions and provide project leadership and support to provide an exceptional level of service to all NBS/NBR departments.
- Build, maintain, monitor, and repair data center and network infrastructure.
- Build, maintain, monitor, and repair company telecommunications.
- Add and maintain users on the network, assigning application access, ensuring security, and maintaining their configurations are within standards.
- Installation of workstations and printers.
- Make assessments and recommendations for upcoming needs of the network including the purchase of additional hardware or software required.
- Troubleshoot and fix systems in laboratory settings, including instruments that support animal care.
- Follow up on Change Request (CRs).
- Aid in building documentation for Qualification and Validation of systems.
- Create and maintain work instructions.
- Other duties as assigned
Role Requirements
- Bachelor's or equivalent experience
- Experience: 5 years’ experience in Information Technology
- Certification or demonstration of training in Network Plus, or CCNA
- Maintain the level of proficiency necessary for competence in the position as identified by the
- department training website
- Knowledge of GLPs (21 CFR Part 11) and other federal regulations
- Basic understanding of laboratory operations and data collection
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints

Special Requirements
- The person filling this position will spend approximately 90% in an office setting and 10% in the laboratory. There will be exposure to animal pathogens and chemicals. There will be handling of, and/or exposure to animal tissue and zoonotic organisms.
- Ability to don and wear personal protective gear, including N95 masks and respirators.
- Ability to work beyond typical work schedule including but not limited to evenings, weekends, and extended shifts with short notice.
