Job Description
The Network Administrator is responsible for daily maintenance and administration of networking Wide Area Network (WAN) circuit services, domestically and globally as applicable. The scope of this position involves network service (circuits) and hardware inventory maintenance, order provisioning, invoice analysis and tracking, and first level analysis and reporting of network performance and utilization. Compliance with Company policies around Information Security, Incident Management, and Change Management are required. The position supports implementation projects and carries a company issued smart phone.
How You'll Shine:
Plan and provision data network circuits. Negotiates with WAN carriers to ensure the highest quality services for the best cost. Implements, updates, maintains, and manages circuit inventory.
Tracks change control and service levels of WAN carrier services. Coordinates with carriers to improve service levels, as needed.
Issues and tracks service provider orders.
Support Network Engineers, various IT Architects, analysts, IT peers, outside vendors, partners, and other resources to maintain accurate records and provide management reporting of network services, associated operating expenses, and invoice aging.
Perform technical support coordination between Network Services and other IT technical engineering groups, supporting the maintenance and installation, and modification of systems including interfaces, migration of new software releases, system upgrades, and general technical modifications.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree or related work in Computer Science or Telecommunications
Networking fundamentals
Diagnostic and monitoring tools including Solarwinds & Splunk
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint
Ability to work in SolarWinds for WAN performance monitoring and capacity planning
Flexibility to work long hours as needed to support the timely delivery of networking services and maintenance of circuit inventory
Familiarity with TCP/IP, MPLS, Ethernet, LAN, WAN, VPN, Internet.
Experience in billing and invoice administration of data network environments, including LAN and WAN.
Experience maintaining inventories of enterprise networks composed of Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Meraki switches, dynamic routing protocols, switching technologies and wireless technologies.
Working knowledge of OSI networking model
Familiarity with TCP/IP, MPLS, Ethernet, LAN, WAN, VPN, Internet.
Three to five years of relevant work experience in a mid-to-large enterprise with 24x7 production operations.
Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.
