Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:Under general supervision serves as systems administrator, serves as the primary support of the system’s managing and recording components that control the electronic information resources and system usage. Provides application and client support of issues for staff. Responsible for supporting the installation and operation of the University computer network system, including software and hardware technologies. Troubleshoots network server, desktop computer and software problems and develops and implements solutions.
Essential Duties Summary:- Administers server application); serves as support applications and client issues staff.
- Trains and assists end users in proper use of hardware, software applications, network applications, Internet services, and other on-line computer services.
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves problems systems hardware and software, such as but not limited to ORACLE or other system updates, patches and Serials Solutions.
- Coordinates and ensures network security to control system access. Monitors, updates, installs and configures antivirus programs. Serves as a member of Committees and coordinates all technical issues with personnel to identify, prioritize and implement modifications, upgrades and improvements.
- Tracks, maintains and updates inventory listing of hardware and software installations, desktop computers, telephone equipment, peripheral equipment, and network architecture.
- Evaluates and recommends appropriate software and hardware standards and purchases. Prepares and submits requisitions according to technology and purchasing standards.

- Provides technical assistance for data storage for all services. Provides for back-up and restoration of user files.
- May assists with network security to control system access. Monitors, updates, installs and configures antivirus programs.
- Provides technical assistance on establishing specifications and system requirements to ensure and maintain remote access for users using authentication software.
- Produces special reports using advanced MS Excel spreadsheets, MS Access databases, and other documents with multiple complex formulae.
- Evaluates and recommends appropriate software and hardware standards and purchases. Prepares and submits requisitions according to technology and purchasing standards.
- Serves as technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with specialized and dedicated technology systems.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range:Commensurate with experience.
Education:Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) preferred.
Required Licensing/Certification:None required.
