Network Administrator I - Contract
Connection has a fantastic opportunity for a contract-to-hire Network Administrator I with one of our clients in the health care industry in Lindenhurst, NY. This role will be contract-to-hire ($40-$46/hr) and if offered a perm position, a competitive annual salary range will be offered as well as bonus, great benefits, and matching 401K. This opportunity will be 100% onsite, M-F daytime hours.
The Network Administrator I will be responsible for implementing, and maintaining the corporate networks and systems, as well as providing technical support and troubleshooting to ensure the smooth operation of the company's IT infrastructure.

The Network Administrator I will be responsible for implementing, and maintaining the corporate networks and systems, as well as providing technical support and troubleshooting to ensure the smooth operation of the company's IT infrastructure.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience in a networking role
- Networking Certifications are a plus
- Experience with network monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting tools (e.g. Wireshark, SIEM WhatsUp Gold or similar)
- Experience with cloud-based networks (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Experience creating technical documentation
- Fortinet experience (some)
- Can have any router or switch experience
- Basic concepts of Networking
- knowledge of Fortinet firewalls
- Knowledge of switches
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other common protocols
- firewalls, and VPNs
- Ability to troubleshoot network issues and resolve issues.
- Knowledge of network routing and switching protocols (e.g. OSPF, RIP, BGP, STP, VLANs, VLT, )
- Knowledge of network security technologies (e.g. IPsec, SSL/TLS, PKI)
