Job Summary:
We are seeking a multi-disciplined Network Systems Administrator with a passion for technology to join our IT team. Our team is responsible for all internal IT infrastructure including but not limited to networking, computers & servers (both on-premises and cloud-based), active directory, software licensing and installations, etc. The ideal candidate will have a good background in networking and security to support and improve upon the current Thomas Electronics infrastructure. The administrator will be hands-on in a manufacturing environment, working to support all levels of employees: production operators, engineers, supervisors and managers, as well as company executives.
Duties:
-· Maintain all aspects of the Thomas Electronics network in regard to on-premises and cloud servers, firewalls, VPNs, switches, and equipment endpoints.
· Maintain network and computer system security and ensure that all systems are operating correctly.
· Configure and maintain firewall, anti-virus, anti-malware, etc. for internal network protection.
· Evaluate, propose, plan, and implement network maintenance and backup requirements.
· Collect data to evaluate the networks or system’s performance and help make the system work better and faster.
· Train users in the proper use of hardware and software.
· Solve problems when a user or an automated monitoring system informs them that a problem exists.
· Work with new hires on gaining access to company systems and ensure proper understanding of using system.
· Document IT procedures and policies for formal IT documentation and NIST compliance.
· Assist IT Help Desk Technician with help desk support tasks when available to guide technician in troubleshooting methods.
