Choose from one of our two beautiful Julian properties and join us in leading unforgettable adventures in the great outdoors. Camp Winacka - A traditional rustic camp with spectacular views. The camp features a pool, miles of hiking trails, green building including a new environmental center and two lakes.
Campers choose from programs focusing on aquatics, horses, arts and adventure. Campers and staff sleep in open-air cabins with built-in bunk beds, in platform tents with bunk beds or on cots under the stars. Camp Whispering Oaks - Features a sports field and basketball court tucked amongst oak and pine trees, unique stargazing venues, abundant wildlife and a small, close-knit camp community.
Campers choose from programs focusing on science and space, outdoor skills, sports, theater and the arts. Campers and staff sleep in fully enclosed indoor cabins with electricity and paved, lighted pathways winding through native manzanita, oak and pine trees. Your summer will look like this: As the Nature & Science Specialist, you will be empowered to develop and deliver nature and environmental activities that are safe, fun and appropriate to the campers' age and abilities while reflecting the Girl Scout commitment to stewardship of the natural environment.
Surrounded by beautiful nature, you may be required to sleep in cabins with campers. Develops and delivers a nature education and environmental program that is appropriate for the age and ability of the campers and uses the camp's natural environment. Provides and creates environmental education resources for campers outside of direct program; including all camp recycling, composting, etc.
In conjunction with Farm and Garden specialist, responsible for garden and animal care and programming Responsible for set up, inventory, while maintaining nature and environmental resource materials that are easily accessible and usable by camp staff. Assists in the general operation of camp as assigned by the camp director or program director. Maintains clear and positive written and verbal communication with all internal and external clients.
Observes all safety precautions and complies with all council rules, policies, and procedures. Performs other duties, as assigned. What's in it for you: Compensation: $84 - $89/daily rate.
