The successful applicant will join a broad-based team of scientists and engineers involved in the analysis of Microwave Remote sensing systems, pre-flight specifications and characterizations of microwave radiometer systems, and the calibration and validation of spaced based microwave radiometric data.
Ideally, the candidate will have expertise in handling large volume data sets, knowledge of microwave radiative transfer, microwave radiometer design, microwave calibration methodology, and statistical analysis.
Experience in at least one or more of the following computer languages and/or analysis tools: FORTRAN, C/C++, Python, UNIX shell scripting, Matlab and/or IDL is required.
Candidates should possess a B.S. (M.S., Ph.D. or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Atmospheric Science (Meteorology), Physical Oceanography, Physics, Computer Science, Statistics or related disciplines. The position may be filled as a PostDoc, visiting scientist, support contractor, or permanent federal employee.
