A leading and innovative provider of high-quality outdoor and camping gear, is seeking a dynamic and experienced National Sales Manager to join our team.
**Position Overview:**
As the National Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth for an established national brand with over 100 years of history, present in every major national retailer. You will manage and and expand our national accounts, with a specific focus on key retailers such as REI, Backcountry.com, and Bass Pro Shop. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully navigating and negotiating within the outdoor gear industry, fostering strong relationships, and exceeding sales targets.
**Responsibilities:**
1. **National Account Management:**
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for national account growth, with a primary focus on large retailers.
- Establish and maintain a network of regional independent reps.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers within all accounts.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying new opportunities, negotiating contracts, and ensuring successful product placements.
2. **Sales Strategy and Execution:**
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling sales materials and promotions.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threats.
3. **Team Collaboration:**
- Work closely with top management to ensure alignment with National Sales objectives.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the sales team to enhance their effectiveness in the field.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and product development, to ensure a unified approach to market expansion.
4. **Reporting and Analysis:**
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to national accounts.
- Conduct regular analysis of sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts to senior management.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven track record of at least 5 years in National Sales management within the outdoor gear or related industry.
- Demonstrated success in managing and expanding relationships with major accounts such as REI, backcountry.com, and Bass Pro Shop.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel nationally as needed.
- Remote position - no need to relocate.
