Responsibilities:
Qualified candidates should be able to meet or exceed Revenue and GP targets by executing account strategies that drive positive client business outcomes. This is achieved through a strategic and consultative approach, leveraging existing relationships while establishing new ones with the client and strategic business partners and vendors. Job Duties:
- As a trusted advisor to our clients, supports and brings value to clients within the targeted Higher Education accounts assigned per their desired outcomes and requirements.
- Delivers presentations to customers and prospects promoting Connection’s capabilities and explaining the benefits and value of Connection as a complete solutions and services provider.
- Maintains and grows existing key accounts and develops new business on behalf of assigned accounts.
- Develops sales and account management strategies that will deliver revenue and GP targets within a defined set of accounts.
- Develops a strategy around existing accounts on new business opportunities.
- Meets weekly with sales management on execution of business/account plan and calendar/pipeline. Completes daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly administrative functions, such as, managing expenses and submitting timely, weekly calendar/pipeline reports and providing updates as needed.
- Prepares quarterly and/or regular business reviews & customized customer presentations.
- Works closely with business partners (i.e. manufacturer field reps) to help penetrate accounts and win business.
The ideal candidate should have:
- At least 10 years of successful sales experience in IT hardware, software, and professional services for large Higher Education institution
- Experience selling IT products at a value-added reseller, National Solution Provider or Distributor.
- Strong C-Level relationships with Higher Education Institutions, skills in developing new relationships with customers and the ability to understand client business issues and needs.
- Able to demonstrate a track record of achieving consistently strong sales performance within these accounts.
- Extremely self-motivated and driven by rich, highly leveraged compensation plans.
- Knowledge of major strategic OEM solutions and current technologies.
- A proven track record of achieving strong sales numbers.
- Able to leverage strong existing relationships with local OEM field sales teams of strategic suppliers such as HP, Cisco, Microsoft, VMWare, Dell, Lenovo, and IBM.
- Ideally has an understanding of OEMs market strategy, mapping and territories, incentive and marketing programs.
- Able to think strategically and leverage resources.
- Effective presentation and communication skills with senior-level executives.
- Travel is a major part of the role with frequency greater than 50% of the time.
