Position Description
The Municipal Finance Analyst is responsible for assisting the Municipal Business Sector on all project related financial needs, including Water Department consulting with various clients. The candidate will also assist Finance Department with tasks involving the management of the company?s financial health.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with Municipal projects requiring finance expertise (billing, asset management plans, TMF capacity studies, rate studies, budgets, annual rate setting, etc..)
- Analysis of billing data for various projects & lawsuit requirements
- Approve and submit monthly loan reimbursements to EGLE & other State Agencies
- Participate in consulting projects with other municipalities as required
- Weekly tracking & reporting of Municipal project expenses
- Assist Municipal team with Propeller project set-up and maintenance
- Perform day-to-day financial operations within the company as specifically assigned, and assist other financial department staff as needed
- Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial reports
- Prepare monthly/biweekly invoicing backup per Client specific requirements
- Finalize weekly payroll, including calculation of overtime
- Process expense reports weekly
- Assist with financial portion of company?s strategic planning/budgeting process
- Assist with development and review of financial portion of client pre-qualifications
- Miscellaneous projects as assigned
- Maintain exceptional internal and external client relations
- Achieve performance objectives and financial metrics
- All other duties as assigned Qualifications
- Bachelor?s degree in accounting preferred, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education & experience
- Minimum four (4) years applicable experience
- Excellent proficiency in Excel, and proficiency in entire Microsoft Office Suite programs
- Must possess a valid driver?s license and be able to travel to clients and project sites; Could require overnight stay.
- Excellent concentration and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
- Exceptional written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams including technical and non-technical personnel

Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Office setting
- Regularly required to sit 80% of the time
- Frequently lifts or moves objects up to 20 pounds

- Compensation is commensurate with experience.
