POSITION PURPOSE
This position is principally responsible for assisting the Maintenance team to ensure facilities, properties, and equipment are in good repair and free of licensing violations directly associated with the building, grounds, and equipment of each center throughout the company. New Creations strives to have a clean, in-repair, damage-free environment at each center which is to be coordinated by the Area Lead and Site Director. The needs of each center will be communicated through each center’s Maintenance Ticket system which will be directed by Area Lead. The Maintenance Technician’s schedule will be directed by the centers’ needs and Maintenance Manager and communicated clearly in advance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Below is a brief description of responsibilities of this position. Additional responsibilities may be added to this list as needed. The job description is not limited to the following:
- Upon arrival at a center, check in with Director and conduct a walkthrough with maintenance checklist and prioritize work orders.
- Maintains attention to detail of the facilities included in the New Creations company and restores / fixes these issues as needed to ensure a violation free center.
- Drywall and paint damage including paint chips, holes patching, sanding, repainting, spackle / patchwork.
- Outdoor Areas (parking lot, campus grounds, play areas)
- Light yard work including weed control, tilling ground for planting flowers and shrubbery, salting icy sidewalks, spreading mulch and rocks as needed.
- Outdoor play structure. Building and maintaining, sanding, staining and repairing as needed.
- Ensuring fencing and surround is in good repair.
- Gutter inspection if applicable. (Check on rainy day if water is being deterred properly).
- Classroom Maintenance
- Fixing broken toys and equipment if possible.
- Changing lightbulbs, air filters as needed.
- Assembling of shelving units, changing tables, cribs, new toys, etc.
- Kitchen
- Addressing and assessing kitchen equipment-fixing or coordinating the approved vendor to make the repair if needed.
- Playground
- Annual review of playground equipment should be conducted.
- Attend to anything that needs updating such as: wooden structures needed stain, tightening bolts, securing slides, ladders, rock climbers, etc.
- Structures and fencing should be inspected.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Basic knowledge of building and grounds repair and maintenance
- Basic understanding of painting and spackling techniques and equipment needed
- Advanced knowledge of equipment needed and ability to make repairs to building, grounds and equipment at New Creations centers.
- Current and valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
With or without reasonable accommodation this position requires:
- Driving 30 minutes to 1.5 hours a day
- Standing for several hours at a time
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. at a time
- Operating a wheel barrel
- Bending and standing in repetition motions while repairing equipment
- At least 20/20 vision to operate power tools as needed within safety guidelines
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
