Mro Buyer

The MRO Purchaser is an integral member of Prepac’s Purchasing Team located at our manufacturing facility in Whitsett, NC. In this role, you will be responsible for MRO purchasing and receipts along with other purchasing administrative functions. The successful candidate will be able to perform daily purchasing duties as well as back up any departmental needs.

Key Accountabilities:

• Prepares Purchase Orders, verify specifications and price for all approved MRO requisitions.
• Liaising with supplier and warehouse teams to meet >95% on time delivery.
• Monitor inventory movement and maintain optimal inventory turn.
• Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list or BOM; clarifying the specifications; negotiate non stocking pricing; recommending alternatives.
• Tracks delivery schedules and updates purchase orders with new delivery times.
• Provides purchasing planning and demand forecast for daily, weekly, and monthly usage.
• Inputs Purchase Order receipts into the ERP System and prints GRN’s.
• Scans copies of Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Order, Receiving Documents and GRN’s and sends to AP at Head Office.
• Works with AP at Head Office to resolve MRO Purchasing receiving variances.
• Other duties as assigned.

Reporting Structure:

Reports to the Purchasing Manager / Director of Sourcing and Procurement

Success Measures:

• Purchase Order Accuracy and tracking for all approved MRO Purchases, supply on time delivery, inventory turn, and cost saving target.
• Accurate Purchase Order approved price changes updates and tracking in excel
• Teamwork! Positive Attitude & great attendance in a fast paced, lean environment

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Buyer/ Purchasing Administrator in a manufacturing setting
• High School or Associates Degree
• Demonstrated success in maintaining accurate records with Excel experience
• Knowledge of LEAN continuous improvement principles
• Working experience in an ERP Purchasing Module and Microsoft excel is essential. Syspro software experience is a plus
• Strong verbal, analytical, and written communication skills
• Attention to detail and team player.
