JOB OVERVIEW
The Boston WhalerMRO Buyer/Planner is responsible for the procurement of MRO and capital goods required to support ongoing plant and facility operations, as well as services required to support business operations of all internal departments and functions. To be successful in this role, the MRO Buyer will need to be able to work collaboratively cross-functionally and with others at all levels of the organization, while also maintaining effective relationships with outside vendors. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the preparation and issuance of purchase orders for products and services
- Establishes professional working relationships with suppliers and communicates priorities for critical shipments
- Executes initiatives from Brunswick indirect sourcing
- Identifies and develops opportunities for material cost reductions while executing advanced negotiation techniques
- Identifies and communicates component quality issues
- Manages inventory levels within defined parameters
- Related duties as assigned as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in purchasing or materials management required
- Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel required
- Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Requires excellent communication and people skills
- Proven sourcing and problem-solving skills
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- MRP experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred (Ultriva, Micrsoft Dynamics, SAP, etc.)
- Lean Six Sigma and Statistical Analysis experience preferred
WORK ENVOIRNMENT & PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
