Job Description

I. General Summary:
Purchasing MRO Buyer leads and collaboration with facilities to improve cost and productivity, as well as MRO supplier compliance activities for multiple manufacturing facilities.
II. Essential Job Functions:
A. Responsible for sourcing activity for the various products needed for maintenance, repair, and operations.
B. Maintain MRO standard catalogue to keep consistency and manage costs across TBAGC.
C. Develop bulk purchase strategy for TBAGC. This involves negotiating contracts, terms, and pricing to secure favorable agreements with MRO vendors.
D. Work closely with various departments at TBAGC to understand their needs and priorities.
E. Monitor plant spending to identify area for cost saving opportunities.
F. Attend MRO conferences to stay updated on industry trends, new products and emerging technologies.
G. Ensure vendor compliance with environmental and government regulations as well industry standards.
H. Participate TISAX (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) meetings and take a leadership role in managing purchasing responsibilities.
III. Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Mechanical Engineering or related field required, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience:
• Entry to four (4) years of relevant experience.
• MRO purchasing experience or equivalent purchasing experience preferred.
Personal/Technical Skills:
• Basic understanding of the industrial equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Working knowledge and general understanding of purchasing, manufacturing, and/or materials management.
• Ability to manage large amounts of data.
• Able to work in a fast paced, multicultural work environment.
• Ability to function both independently and with good judgment in a team environment.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work efficiently within time constraints and deadlines, and handle stressful situations.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong organization, planning, and analytical skills.
• Ability to communicate and work well with all levels of the organization.
Language Skills:
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate complex information in verbal and written English.
• Japanese and/or Spanish would be helpful.
Computer/Software:
• Previous experience working with integrated computer programs and/or applications. ERP System experience (e.g., Oracle) and MRO management software preferred.
• Solid working knowledge and demonstrated intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.).
IV. Work Environment/Conditions:
Office: Open Office Environment, moderate noise level.
Plant: N/A
Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
V. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to talk, see, and hear. The team member must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time. May be occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to sit and work on a computer for extensive periods of time is required. Travel long distances by plane or automobile (sometimes with short notice).
