POSITION TITLE: MRO Buyer
DEPARTMENT: Finance/Purchasing
REPORTS TO: Purchasing Manager
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible to ensure that the maintenance, repair, and operations of the company has the appropriate inventory of parts, supplies and materials to efficiently and quickly address all maintenance requests, while maintaining the highest level of quality and cost effectiveness.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
The Parts Coordinator plays an extremely important role in customer satisfaction and the overall continued success of Cold Spring Brewing Company. The position assists the MRO Buyer to ensure that the company has the appropriate inventory of parts, supplies and materials to efficiently and quickly address operational issues, while maintaining the highest level of quality and cost effectiveness.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Coordinate and conduct regular inventory counts required by the company & maintain supplies, materials and replacement parts.
Obtain purchase order number from purchasing department and assign identifying number.
Compare invoices against requisitions to verify quality and quantity of merchandise received.
Store purchased parts in storeroom bins and issue parts upon request.
Keep records of parts received and issued.
Record repair time expended by maintenance department.
Requisition parts from central parts department.
Search inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity.
Research supplier catalogs/internet to obtain prices and specifications; to ensure best pricing is best practice.
Confer with suppliers concerning late deliveries.
Compile and record production data from such documents as customer orders, work tickets, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets.
Unload and unpack incoming shipments and for outgoing shipments and determine best method of shipment.
Manage, maintain and minimize impacts of operations on employees’ health and safety. Including, but not limited to ergonomics, hearing conservation, fatigue, etc.
Any other duties deemed necessary by management.

1 year experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Sedentary work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Pulling, lifting, grasping, tactile sense, repetitive motions, seeing, hearing, talking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, and pushing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate all MRO activities to ensure timely and cost effective purchasing and receipt of necessary equipment and supplies to ensure continued operations.
- Conducts research, evaluates findings and makes independent decisions on MRO procurement matters for goods and services.
- Interprets and evaluate MRO contract provisions with the approval of Purchasing Manager.
- Obtains oral and written prices quotes from MRO vendors. Compare quotes with the specification and availability of items and places MRO orders.
- Prepares MRO purchase orders through a computerized system and places orders for the purchase of goods and services in a timely manner. Print, fax or email Pos to suppliers.
- Organizes, updates, and retains MRO supplier and product information files and purchase order records to ensure compliance.
- Schedules work for facilities maintenance crew based off of work orders/work requests.
- Reviews orders for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with existing policies and procedures and ensures all purchasing procedures and guidelines are followed.
- Obtains appropriate MRO commodities in a timely manner.
- Interview MRO suppliers and evaluates their products and capabilities as a supplier.
- Demonstrates continual effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and sort cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Research and follow up on questionable invoices and packing slips when assistance is requested by accounting. Communicate any supplier MRO order discrepancies and work to resolve with necessary parties.
- Supervise production crib activities, supply stations, and parts room.
- Manage, order, and coordinate repair/rework service items for entire operation.
- Participate / assist with plant inventory activities, as required.
- Performs all other duties as assigned or required by the supervisor/customer.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires regular standing and sitting for extended periods of time. Regular typing/keyboarding, writing and filing. Position must be able to communicate with all levels of employees, vendors, customers and visitors. Must also be able to work in a high stress environment.
TYPICAL WORKING ENVIRONMENT: This position works in an office environment, but may spend up to 50% or more of their time in the production/warehouse environment or out of the office.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelors Degree in business related field is preferred. Post secondary training plus
appropriate experience may be acceptable.
Experience: 1-3 years purchasing experience in manufacturing setting is required; Food &
Beverage industry is preferred.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities: Must be skilled in the art of negotiation. Must have above average verbal and
written skills. Must also have proficient skills in use of various computer programs
such as Microsoft Word, Excel Spreadsheet, Powerpoint. This position also requires
excellent organizational skills, and ability to work effectively with employees at all
levels of the company. Must also have understanding of supply management,
logistics and financial systems.
