Mri Receptionist

Position Time: Part Time = Friday 8am-8pm and Saturday 8am-4:30pm

Rothman Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital is a single-specialty surgical hospital in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. Our hospital was developed by Rothman physicians to provide their patients high quality and patient-focused care. Our facility features 6 fully-equipped operating rooms and 24 in-patient rooms. We are equipped for joint replacements, orthopedic surgery, pain management and spine surgery, as well as sports medicine, foot and ankle, shoulder and elbow, and hand and wrist procedures. Rothman Orthopaedic Specialty Hospital offers patients a safe and comfortable environment to receive surgical care.

JOB SUMMARY:

Coordinates patient registration and update patient's EMR with personal and financial information. Verify patient insurance and assess need for Pre-certification for all MRI patients. Performs clerical duties as well as billing and administrative tasks. Coordinates patient information as needed with the business office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates degree preferred.
• Two years Insurance verification/Prior Authorization experience
• Two years' experience in a registration role at a healthcare center.
• Proficient in MS Office applications which include Outlook, Word, Excel

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Admits patients to the Facility following the established policies and procedures..
• Ensures paperwork/charts are in order as requested by Clinical Staff and that patient flow through MRI center or hospital is smooth.
• Verifies patient insurance, obtains pre-certification, and collects patient responsibility at time of service. Obtains patient signature on promissory notes as needed, coordinated patient medical bills with billing office as needed.
• Coordinates reception area activities for effective communication with all areas
• Answers telephone and intercom courteously, and in a quiet, pleasant voice.
• Maintains coverage at front desk at all times.
• Participates in training/cross-training as directed.
