Job Title: Mounter Department: Finish
SUMMARY
Inserts ophthalmic lenses into ophthalmic frame.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Duties
- Insert correct lens into correct side of frame (right and left lens)
- Ensure that lenses are correct size and fit in frame
- Ensure that any special beveling needs are met for each individual Rx
- Properly align frame by carefully bending with fingers
- Verify the axis on all single vision lenses
- Make sure lenses are cosmetically acceptable
- Check vertical prism on all single vision lenses
- Align bifocals and progressives to make sure they are straight across
- Briefly inspect frame for defects or broken parts
- FRAME ALIGNMENT= All new frames should have a correct four point touch. Temples and front should be square. Spring hinge frames are satisfactory if slightly bent in. Front wrap should be minimal unless by design of frame. Pad arms should be bent at equal distance. There should be no bridge twist or co-plainer. Temples should close evenly.
- All screws must be tight. No "V" in eye wire. Check for sealed eye wear instructions
Secondary Duties
- Cross-Train in other positions
- Remove eyewire screws from ophthalmic frames to facilitate insertion of edged lenses
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- None required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be able to read prescriptions
- Able and willing to work as a team
- Able to read and write English Language well
- Have good eyesight, hand/eye coordination, manual dexterity, attention to detail and patience
- Work without supervision
- Must be available to work Overtime and Saturdays when needed
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Pay Rate:
$18.00/hr to $20.65/hr
