WHAT YOU'LL DO
A Motorsports Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a motorsports team or organization. Their responsibilities involve managing various aspects of the team's activities to ensure efficient and successful participation in motorsports events, races, or competitions.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
Team Logistics:
- Coordinate team travel arrangements, including transportation, accommodations, and schedules.
- Manage team logistics for practices, races, and testing sessions.
- Oversee equipment transportation and maintenance, ensuring everything is in working order.
- Collaborate with technical staff to prepare race vehicles, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards.
- Coordinate race strategy and tactics with the team's race engineers and drivers.
- Manage pit crew scheduling and preparations for pit stops.
- Stay updated on motorsports regulations, rules, and safety standards.
- Ensure the team complies with all relevant regulations and safety protocols.
- Handle administrative tasks related to licensing, permits, and registrations.
- Develop and manage the team's budget, including expenses for travel, equipment, personnel, and race fees.
- Monitor and report on budgetary performance and make adjustments as necessary.
- Recruit, train, and supervise support staff, including mechanics, engineers, and logistics personnel.
- Foster a positive and cohesive team atmosphere.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
- Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure the availability of necessary supplies and materials for the team.
- Coordinate the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.
- Implement safety protocols and risk management measures during practices and races.
- Prepare emergency response plans and ensure personnel are trained for various scenarios.
- Plan and execute race day logistics, including setup, hospitality, and media relations.
- Coordinate with event organizers, sponsors, and partners.
- Collect and analyze race data, performance metrics, and feedback to improve team performance.
- Prepare reports for team management and sponsors.
- Foster positive relationships with sponsors, media, and fans.
- Represent the team at promotional events and media appearances.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in sports management, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Extensive experience in motorsports, including previous roles in team management or operations.
- In-depth knowledge of motorsports regulations and safety standards.
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Proficiency in using relevant software tools for data analysis and logistics management.
- Willingness to travel frequently and work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Excellent communication skills with a high level of professionalism and business acumen
- Must have a clean driving record and the ability to pass a Background Check
- Must have a valid Driver’s License
