Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Molding Automation Technicianlocated in Buffalo Grove, IL.
Reporting to the Process EngineerManager theMolding Automation Technician supports automation engineering services activities such as hardware and software design and development (non-production).
Shift: 6:00pm to 6:30am (rotating)
What a typical day looks like:

• Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying Molding Automation/robotic system components.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components and return to serviceability.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance actions on all subsystems and related components
• Ensure preventative maintenance of robotic and process support equipment are completed on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Understanding of PLCs
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams including complex automated system drawings.
• Analyzes engineering test results and implements changes to resolve problems.
• Collaborate with the automation team in the qualification process of automated systems.
• Records procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or method.
• Maintains software, documentation and equipment to the latest revision or operational specifications.
• Assists engineers in developing and designing hardware and software required for all automation solutions per specifications.
• Trains other technicians and operators on products, processes and equipment.
• Proper use of power tools and measuring equipment.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

• 2+ years of related experience or Associates degree or Bachelor's degree with no prior experience required.
• Injection Molding and high-volume assembly experience.
• Working knowledge of PLC control systems, able to connect to PLCs using RS Logix or other PLC programming software for the purpose of troubleshooting and error tracing.
• Solid mechanical aptitude, have the ability to use basic hand tools.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic equipment.
• Able to read blueprints and schematics.
• Experience programming Robotic equipment a plus.
• Cognex Vision Pro experience desired.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and follow detailed written and oral instructions in English.
• Must have basic written and oral communication skills and ability to learn and comply with current Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) regulations.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
• A self-starter with a positive attitude and good time management skills.
• Ability to remain professional at all times.
• Meet the deadlines of individual production tasks during shift.
• Follow the company's safety and quality requirements.
• Must be able to work on multiple shifts, including weekends and holidays, to support a 24/7 manufacturing operation as needed.
• Must be able to work non-traditional work hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
