Industrial scale distributor and service center in Addison has an immediate opening. Entry level or experienced. The position entails driving from site to site, testing, calibrating, and repairing weighing equipment. Electronic/mechanical education or experience is preferred but not mandatory.
We need an individual with a positive attitude and good communication skills to test and repair electronic weighing equipment at our customers’ various sites. There is no overnight travel but you will spend a lot of time driving in the Chicago area and NW Indiana. A company work van (which you will also use back and forth to work) and expenses are provided.
The job requires a little bit physical labor. We require that you be able to lift a minimum of 80 lbs. because you will be lifting 50 lb. test weights daily. You would be required to pass a Department of Transportation physical and a strength test. Preemployment drug testing and random testing are also required. Background checks are also required.
We insist on a safe driving record and will check your driving history. Class B CDL training provided for additional pay. We have (2) heavy duty service vehicles that require Class B CDL
We are one of the largest and oldest scale distributors in the Chicago area. We offer a full benefit package including health, life, and disability insurance all 100% company paid. Paid vacations, sick pay, and holidays are included. Hourly wage is based on skills and experience. You may earn extra money by writing custom software, servicing custom products, our commission programs and some mandatory overtime.
Our hours are 8-4:30. However, we offer 24-hour service to our customers. Therefore, each technician is required to be on call for one day a week and one weekend at a time on a periodic basis. Premium overtime pay will apply when called out after hours.
