We are looking for a Maintenance Automation Technician to join our team to be responsible for the daily manufacturing of products following our recipes. You will learn how to work across a variety of production lines in our facility all while making a competitive wage and receiving support from your community of compassionate leaders. This position is a hybrid of a Maintenance Mechanic & Automation Technician.  The mechanic performs maintenance in the areas of control systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, basic electrical, and basic plumbing.  All duties performed are to reduce breakdowns, improve planned maintenance, and optimize scheduled maintenance.  Must be able to work within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

The Automation Technician designs, installs, and maintains equipment used in modern industrial processes. Must be able to work on a wide range of systems, from the simplest fuses and motors to sophisticated electronic computer interface boards, motor drives, programmable logic controllers, solid-state devices and robotics.  Experience in Allen Bradley RS Logic 5000, 500 and 5 is a benefit.

These responsibilities will be performed in compliance with all company and regulatory programs including, but not limited to:  SQF, HACCP, GMP, OSHA, FDA, USDA and EPA policies and procedures.

What you'll do: 

• Actively participate in programs to improve workplace safety including, but not limited to, attending plant-wide safety training, conducting near misses and participating in plant audits.
• Ensure the highest level of commitment to Safe Quality Food (SQF) in order to provide assurance that all products have been produced, prepared and handled according to the highest possible standards
• Use skills to plan, write, modify, layout, order parts, install, troubleshoot and maintain all plant equipment (including electrical)
• Read blueprints and trade instructions in order to troubleshoot problems, offer solutions, order parts, and repair equipment
• Determine proper materials, fittings and fasteners for various applications and pressure requirements.  Clean and reset valves and traps
• Use electronic and electrical testing apparatus to troubleshoot electrical conditions and complete basic electrical repair or changes such as burned motors and switches
• Follow all company, regulatory and department policies regarding good manufacturing practices (GMP), plant rules, lock out/tag out, safety, HACCP, environmental and sanitation.
• Assist in training of other maintenance personnel

What you'll bring: 

• Minimum of 3 years industrial maintenance experience in food manufacturing environment 
• Knowledge of Pneumatics, PLC, VFD's and other industrial controls for troubleshooting various types of manufacturing equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals
• Use of analytical skills to determine root cause issues with equipment failure, or optimization of equipment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision; be self-motivated, precise and conscientious  
• Knowledge of and ability to use and care for specialized testing equipment and tools
