As a Mining and Materials Subject Matter Expert, you will play a vital role in advancing our mission. In this contract position, you will be responsible for providing expertise and insights in the field of Mining and Materials. Your primary focus will be on conducting analyses and assessments related to the following areas:
Areas of Interest:
- Analyze the origin of materials, both tapped and untapped, considering factors like geographic proximity, refiner/processor proximity, and geopolitical control in source regions.
- Conduct surveys and assessments of existing mines, evaluating aspects such as sophistication, age, efficiency, output, and ownership/controls.
- Assess the quantities of materials yet to be recovered from active mines.
- Evaluate mines that have ceased operations due to economic or environmental reasons.
- Explore regions with known deposits suitable for establishing new mining operations, taking into account economic and geopolitical conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research, analysis, and data synthesis in the field of Mining and Materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate comprehensive reports and white papers based on your findings.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Provide expert guidance and insights on Mining and Materials-related matters.
- Support business development initiatives through the sharing of expertise and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Authorized to work and living in the in the United States.
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Mining Engineering, Geology or a related field is reuqired.
- Proven experience in mining operations, assessments, and Materials analysis.
- Exceptional research and analytical skills.
- Strong technical writing and communication abilities.
- Knowledge of economic and geopolitical factors affecting the mining industry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Dedication to sustainability, environmental responsibility, and national security.
Contract Duration:
- This position is initially offered as a part-time contract role, with the potential for future full-time consulting or employment opportunities based on performance and mutual interest.
