Job Description:
As a Mine Planning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in optimizing mining operations through the development and implementation of efficient mine plans. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will utilize your expertise in mining engineering principles and software tools to design and evaluate mine layouts, production schedules, and resource utilization strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with geologists, mining engineers, and other stakeholders to develop short-term and long-term mine plans that maximize ore recovery and minimize operational costs.
• Utilize Mine Planning software (such as Surpac, MineSight, or similar) to create detailed mine designs, including pit configurations, bench heights, haulage routes, and waste dump locations.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic analyses to assess the viability of mining projects and evaluate alternative mine plans.
• Optimize production schedules and sequencing to meet production targets while balancing ore quality, equipment utilization, and workforce requirements.
• Monitor mine performance and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies in all Mine Planning activities.
• Provide technical support and guidance to operational teams during the implementation of mine plans and production schedules.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility for licensure.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Mine Planning and design, preferably in the mining industry.
• Proficiency in Mine Planning software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
• Strong understanding of mining engineering principles, including open-pit and underground mining methods, mine ventilation, and rock mechanics.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret geological data and engineering specifications.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
