What Your Day Will Look Like
The successful candidate will provide onsite, in-person instruction to our Middle School 8th grade program, specifically English/Language Arts along with a section of Social Studies, developing and preparing lesson plans reflective of the district curriculum and integrates age and developmentally appropriate practices. The majority of your day will involve providing instruction and engaging and interacting with students to maximize their learning and potential in the areas of reading and writing. Additionally, you will be assessing and monitoring student progress, grading, using innovative and creative approaches for inclusive teaching to reach all students, providing a safe and respectful learning environment and communicating with students, families, colleagues and administrators. Collaboration with your team as a professional learning community and completing additional tasks as requested by administrators is key.
Our Ideal Candidate
*Valid Wisconsin Teaching License in Regular Education; Additional license, experience, or training in the area of English/Language Arts preferred
*Understanding in current teaching and learning strategies
*Strong background in the "Middle School Philosophy." and working with Middle School students
*Experience working within a Professional Learning Community
*A proponent of inclusive practices and a passionate and engaging educator
*Demonstrates ability to build positive, nurturing relationships with all learners
*Maintains a positive and safe learning environment
*Possess a collaborative and solution oriented mindsets
*Flexible and adaptable, especially during times of change
*Demonstrates good communication skills, including ability to guide and supervise groups of students, maintain confidentiality, and work with students in a positive and motivational manner
*Exemplary understanding of and implementation of technologies with the middle level learner and how the use of these technologies can further higher order thinking skills
*The ability to analyze, synthesize and implement data that supports and enhances student academic and affective learning
*Bilingual (Spanish) skills and abilities are a plus
