As our MFG Quality Control Inspector - Receiving Inspection, you will be responsible for assuring the quality of purchased products by performing inspections, checks, and tests to ensure specifications are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspects purchased parts and materials for conformity to standards, specifications, and processing requirements.
- Inspects for proper identity and dimensions using such measuring devices as micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
- Visually inspects for obvious defects or damage such as corrosion, cracks, dents, scratches, and pits.
- Verifies specifications using purchase orders, drawings or inspection instructions, and checklists.
- Makes pass/fail decisions on inspected goods.
- Maintains records of results. Inspections may involve compound angles or three-dimensional projections using inspection equipment such as microscopes, micrometers, and optical comparators. Knowledge and experiences of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Coordinate-Measuring Machine (CMM).
- The Inspector may, in special circumstances, be required to work overtime if production goals demand such, which may include evening or weekend hours.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Competency:
Assist in driving total Quality across all production. Ensuring Business Management System requirements are met.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the field of Quality Inspection and experience with inspection equipment such as microscopes, micrometers, height gauges, calipers, telescope gauges, optical comparators. In addition, experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and the use of CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) equipment.
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum three (3) years related experience required.
- H.S. diploma or equivalent required.
Computer Skills:
The individual should be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Proficiency with email, internet and intranet is expected.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before large groups of customer, vendors, or employees.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Work Environment:
This is an electronic assembly environment that involves no unusual physical risks or hazardous conditions. The type of equipment that must be used includes, but is not limited to, electronic diagnostic equipment and Automated Inspection Equipment. Protective eyewear and/or smocks (provided by UA) are required in this work environment. Electrostatic (ESD) precautions must be taken in this work environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
