OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated MES (Manufacturing Execution System) Engineer/Business Analyst to join our manufacturing team. The MES Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining MES solutions to optimize production processes, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both manufacturing operations and information technology, with a focus on integrating software systems to streamline production workflows.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Core Business Analyst and Software Engineering skills
• Proven experience in MES implementation and configuration, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Rockwell FactoryTalk Production Center Experience
• Supply chain operations experience (specifically looking for people with SCOR Model: Plan, Source, Make, Deliver) within supply chain operations. Having an understanding in plan, source, make will help this person understand these areas/operations and processes SQL)
• Strong technical skills in software development, database management, and system integration using MES platforms such as Siemens SIMATIC IT, Rockwell Software FactoryTalk ProductionCentre, or similar.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Java, C#, or Python.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, production scheduling, quality management, and supply chain operations.
• Agile Experience (they are mainly Agile and operate in 2-week sprints, team uses story boards)
• Ability to work across teams and functions to identify requirements, and develop solution options
• strong technical aptitude as the person will need to work with multiple application teams – systems analyst skills are required
• Interest in working in plan, source and make areas of supply chain
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well on cross-functional project teams and foster team commitment to tasks (things are not always black and white and will be collaborating with business teams with different viewpoints. Need to be tactful and thick-skinned.)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Project management experience and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver results on time and within budget.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the manufacturing industry.
• Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning and professional development.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, IT, and quality assurance to understand manufacturing processes and requirements.
• Design, develop, and implement MES solutions tailored to the specific needs of the manufacturing environment, utilizing industry-leading software platforms.
• Configure and customize MES software modules to automate data collection, monitoring, reporting, and analysis of production activities.
• Integrate MES systems with existing enterprise resource planning (ERP), warehouse management systems (WMS), and other software applications to enable seamless data exchange and interoperability.
• Interpret business requirements and technical design specifications into MES solutions code
• Develop test plans and test cases to be used in the execution of unit and system testing to ensure product model quality
• Assist with the deployment of software changes into the production environment
• Lead MES implementation projects from inception to completion, including system architecture design, software installation, testing, and training of end-users.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to production teams to resolve issues related to MES software functionality, data integrity, and system performance.
• Collaborate with external vendors and consultants as needed to leverage specialized expertise and resources for MES projects and initiatives.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in MES technology, process automation, and digital manufacturing to continuously improve and enhance our manufacturing operations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute innovative ideas to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
