Doeren Mayhew's Financial Institutions Group is comprised of cross-functional professionals delivering industry-focused expertise to more than 400 institutions across the nation.
We are seeking an experienced Financial InstitutionsMergers & Acquisitions (M&A)SeniorAnalyst or Associate with 3-7 years of relevant accounting experience to join either our Troy, MI office or in a hybrid role in our small office space in Boston, MA working with our Director of M&A. This is a small growing team with significant deal flow. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to develop and advance within the team, be challenged by the variety of work and immediately make valuable contributions to a growing practice.
Responsibilities:
- Support M&A transactions and strategic advisory engagements as needed
- Take ownership of financial modeling, creation of presentations, research, due diligence and other tasks as necessary
- Build, update and maintain detailed financial models
- Conduct market and economic research
- Draft investment memos, presentations, and recommendations throughout the deal process
- Ensure high-quality deliverables for internal and external end-users
- Work with firm leadership to support and lead various aspects of client engagements, business development, marketing activities, and day-to-day operations
Qualifications:
- Financial institutions experience (credit unions, community banks and other financial institution) is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance or related degree
- 3-7 years of accounting or audit experience
- Strong familiarity with financial institution accounting and finance
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and MS Office applications
- Superior analytical skills and ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights
- Excellent writing, presentation and research abilities
- Ability to work well in teams, but also independently
- Earned or pursuing advanced certifications such as CPA , CVA and/or CFA
