Children’s Apparel Network, a premier Children’s clothing company specializing in licensed children’s apparel, is seeking an experienced and trend-forward Merchandise Designer to join our dynamic team. With a portfolio that includes beloved brands like Disney, Nickelodeon, and Marvel, we are committed to captivating our young audience with creative and fashionable clothing options. This role is designed for someone who has a keen eye for market trends, a creative mind for design, and the leadership skills to inspire a team of talented artists.
Key Responsibilities:
· Market Research: Regularly shop the market and research fashion trends to identify new design opportunities and concepts that align with market trends and consumer behavior.
· Trend Analysis: Understand and anticipate market trends to lead our design team effectively, ensuring our products are always on the cutting edge of children's fashion.
· Creative Leadership: Lead a team of artists in designing into current trends, providing direction and inspiration to produce innovative and appealing designs for our target audience.
· Assortment Analysis: Evaluate our current product assortment to identify gaps and opportunities for new designs, ensuring our offerings remain fresh and competitive.
· Collaborate on Licensed Products: Work closely with licensors to ensure designs meet brand guidelines and appeal to fans, leveraging your experience in licensed children’s clothing to create designs that resonate with our audience.
Requirements:
· Proven Experience: At least 5 years of experience in children’s clothing design, with a strong portfolio that demonstrates your skill in trend analysis, creative design, and market understanding.
· License Knowledge: Experience working with licensed properties, understanding the nuances of incorporating licensed characters and themes into appealing designs.
· Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team of designers, fostering a creative and productive environment.
· Trend Savvy: A deep understanding of children's fashion trends and the ability to translate them into successful product lines.
· Analytical Mindset: Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to guide the design process and product development strategy.
· Collaborative Spirit: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners.
