The Mental Health Therapist provides individual, family, and group Mental Health services to clients of C.H.E.R.I.I.S.H. through in-office, telehealth, and equine-assisted therapy. Services include treatment of children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. We are currently looking for therapists who are: Comfortable working with youth and families, LGBTQIA+ competent, ND-affirming, social justice minded, and ready to join a collaborative, growing, and playful team. Based on client preference and animal-assisted setting, this is primarily an on-site job.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides Mental Health therapy services to assigned caseload.
- Facilitates groups, demonstrations, and workshops as interested and assigned.
- Attends regular staff meetings and supervision as scheduled.
- Meets and maintains requirements for relevant Mental Health license and certification, including continuing education and/or supervision.
- Complies with policies and procedures for C.H.E.R.I.I.S.H. Counseling.
- Maintains shared office and facility spaces as appropriate.
- May contribute to blogging, social media, and other business tasks as interested and assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Masters Degree or Doctoral Degree in applicable Mental Health field (ex: Masters in Counseling, Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, Masters of Social Work)
- Active, unrestricted license in the State of Oregon. A copy of your license must be supplied to C.H.E.R.I.I.S.H. upon request (ex: LCSW, LPC, LMFT, CSWA, Professional Counselor Associate).
- Equine-Assisted Therapy Certification preferred (ex: EAGALA, Natural Lifemanship, Equusoma)
- Align with C.H.E.R.I.I.S.H.’s mission, vision, and values
- Must be punctual in reporting to work
- Full-time staff must be available to hold at least 20 attended client sessions/week over a minimum of 4 days/week, provided such sessions are available and scheduled by C.H.E.R.I.I.S.H.
- Be organized and detail oriented.
- Be a collaborative team member.
- Be able to work independently and complete tasks as assigned.
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Possess skills to complete necessary work functions, including familiarity navigating GSuite and electronic health records.
- Have at least one niche market for Mental Health services (ex: children, teens, ADHD, trauma, anxiety, grief, LGBTQIA+ needs, etc.)
- Be willing to provide any information necessary to complete insurance credentialing.
- Preference may be given to therapists already credentialed with: Aetna, BCBS, Moda, PacificSource, or Kaiser
OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees must wear closed-toed shoes at C.H.E.R.I.I.S.H.'s equine facility and during equine-assisted services. Employee may work outdoors in a covered space during inclement weather for equine-assisted services. Employment locations require the ability to travel by car. Position requires high frequency of sitting and standing for multiple hours at a time depending on the day's work setting (ie: equine-assisted services versus office-based work). Work is occasionally performed in emergency and stressful situations. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate in other situations.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS FOR INDEPENDENTLY LICENSED CLINICIANS:
- C.H.E.R.I.I.S.H. pays hourly based on clinical sessions and administrative work assigned. The starting pay rate for independently licensed clinicians is $60/clinical hour of services provided (potential raise available after 6-months of employment) and $20/administrative hour of work provided (to include staff meetings, supervision, required trainings, client paperwork, and other tasks as relevant). Typical annual income for an independently licensed therapist seeing 25 clients per week is around $88k - $93k.
- Minimum required direct service hours: 12 clients seen per week - typically requires scheduling 15 clients
- Clinicians are paid every other week.
- Clinicians are paid at their clinical rate for late cancels and no show appointments.
- $500 annual CEU Reimbursement available after 6 months of employment

- C.H.E.R.I.I.S.H. pays hourly based on clinical sessions and administrative work assigned/completed. The starting pay rate for independently licensed clinicians is $40/clinical hour of services provided (potential raise available after 6-months of employment) and $20/administrative hour of work provided (to include staff meetings, supervision, required trainings, client paperwork, and other tasks as relevant). Typical annual income for an associate licensed therapist seeing 25 clients per week is around $62k - $67k.
- Minimum required direct service hours: 12 clients seen per week - typically requires scheduling 15 clients
- Clinicians are paid every other week.
- Clinicians are paid at their clinical rate for late cancels and no show appointments.
- $500 annual CEU Reimbursement available after 6 months of employment.
